Three of TVXQ's members in Korea are still in a dispute with their company, while in Japan, they have once again proven that they are Asia's best.

Oricon Chart news reported on the 23rd that TVXQ's "BEST SELECTION 2010" has sold 413,000 copies, and that it took the top spot in the March Oricon Monthly Chart; this is the highest record for a foreign group. The record was previously set by Bon Jovi's "These Days" which was released in June 1995 with 379,000 copies sold. From the 17th of February, the local sales of "BEST SELECTION 2010" came to a total of more than 200,000. From this, we can see how they took first place consecutively for days, and after a week created the record of selling more than 400,000 copies. After their debut in Japan last April 2005, this is the first time they claimed the top spot through an album, and not a single; of course, they were also the first Korean boy band to do so. Up until now, the best album chart ranking was their 4th Japanese album "The Secret Code" last March.

Oricon stated that, "Just like last year's total album sales got the good result of 'BEST 3' in the charts, the TVXQ who soared high in 2009 were chosen to be models for the cover page of women's magazine 'JJ.' Their popularity cannot be stopped," and more comments like these.

This album is a collection of the members' chosen songs; the CD+DVD version includes 11 songs' PVs. The 2CD+DVD version is a compilation if the members' handpicked songs, new song "Tokiwo Tomete," public download limited song "Endlessly Sweet," and the theme song of this year's movie to be released in September, "With All My Heart." "Endlessly Sweet" and a mix of currently hot song "TVXQ NONSTOP-MIX VOL. 2" will be meeting everyone shortly.

On the other hand, this time's "BEST SELECTION 2010" will be released in Korea on the 5th of March; album stakeholders are concerned about the result because it's difficult nowadays to sell CDs in Korea. In 2008, the official 4th Korean album "MIROTIC" exceeded 500,000 copies in Korea, being hailed as the top-selling album for that year.

A founder of the SM entertainment resigned from SM.

SM entertainment spokesman explained that,
“from now on Lee Soo Man will focus only for future foreign production activities.”

Lee Soo Man will withdraw from his duties at SM (Korea) which he founded in 1995.
He will formally resign from a public management director’s position on the 25th,
and stay only as a main shareholder of the SM entertainment in Korea.

However, it is expected that no particular change will be made at SM after his resignation
from the director’s position since SM (in Korea) has been administered by the representative Kim Myongmin.

However it could bring the case that the SM artist’s situation/내실
could be strengthened/improved/강화될 due to this change at SM entertainment (Korea).

Dong Bang Shin Ki court mediation failed, court decision to be revealed soon

The three members of group Dong Bang Shin Ki who have unfair contract dispute with their agency SM Entertainment presented at the court secretly on last October 13th, however had failed to reach agreement with SM.

Previously on October 12th, the two side had submitted a final official stand documents that have been required since early this month for review to make final decision.
At the end of July this year, 3 Dong Bang Shin Ki members (Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu) filed their disposition application to Seoul Central District Court to terminate the exclusive contract effect against SM Entertainment.

Reportedly on July 30th at 4 pm, wearing sunglasses, the members entered hurriedly to the side entrance of the court building. They secretly received report about the trial request date and other information regarding the case was not disclosed. There was no appearance of the fans, and even most of court staffs couldn’t recognize the three members who disguised themselves just like ordinary civilians and they could move without any fuss.

On August 22nd the legal representative of the 3 members forwarded members’ thought to the court, “We found it very difficult to improve and reach our goals in this industry if we live under SM’s management with all its terms and conditions.”

It’s also reported that, “The arguments happened with SM Lee Soo Man regarding this dispute already reached our highest limit of emotion.” Meanwhile the other two members who don’t participate in the legal case and still have listed activities with SM said, “It’s not possible to breakdown a group of 5 people who actually still want to work together.” showing their intention to keep shinning together as a group.

After the failure of yesterday’s mediation between two sides, court won’t summon the 3 members any further and will make its final decision soon.

Idol group Dong Bang Shin Ki’s 800K strong fanclub Cassiopeia has planned to show their support for their idols through their united act.

A fanpage ‘DongNaeBangNae’ recently put up a notice to call out to fans to boycott SM Entertainment by not buying products from SM Entertainment on 12th August.

Recently, with the lawsuit between SM Ent and Dong Bang Shin Ki member Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun and Hero JaeJoong over contract problems, SMTown Live 09 concert to take place on 16th August was postponed indefinitely.

SM, “We give 40% of profits to Dong Bang Shin Ki”

SM Entertainment revealed recently, “We split profits with group Dong Bang Shin Ki at the ratio of 4:6.”

Revealed on MC programme “Current Affairs Magazine 2580′ aired on 9th August, Dong Bang Shin Ki has brought in a recorded 49.8 billion KRW. Of these, SM has invested 22.4 KRW. And the rest was split between the group and SM at 4:6.”

SM said, “Of the benefits, Dong Bang Shin Ki gets 4 proportions and SM gets 6 proportions. Of the 27.4 KRW, Dong Bang Shin Ki gets 11.0 KRW and SM gets 16.4KRW.”

It was also revealed that for overseas promotions, Dong Bang Shin Ki gets 7 and SM gets 3 proportions.Also for overseas event, CF revenues, they are split at 7:3.

But according to the 3 members of Dong Bang Shin Ki, “The splitting of profits is not transparent. We cannot trust them.”

New news update from the Japanese company:

“Looking at Dong Bang Shin Ki’s situation now, we see that there will be no change to their Japanese activities”

Dong Bang Shin Ki’s Japanese company AVEX Entertainment talked about their stand after news of the group’s 3 member went to apply for retractile fo their exclusive rights effects from their contract with SM.

They posted an official statement on their official website on 1st August, saying “We are confirming the details of the Dong Bang Shin Ki’s problems with SM which arose yesterday. But we have not grasped fully the situation.”

“We apologise to fans for all the confusion and worry. Even though we are sorry to everyone, we hope you would understand.”

Dong Bang Shin Ki participated in the summer song festival with AVEX singers on 1st August. There are also plans for them to perform on ‘A-Nation’ concert this month.

-The core of the disagreement.
Unreasonable contract. In the Fair Trade Commission, the contract period should not be longer than 7 years. Of course, during the trainee period there are occassion that the singers choose to develop their contract but some of the terms given to Dong Bang Shin Ki, FTC have find it unfair in many ways.

- Also the cosmetics enterprise which three member and their parents running became known as one axis of the conflict.
“The cosmetics company could be one of the reasons for the discord but not what ultimately convinced the three members to go to court. We have examined the official statement from SM this morning and noticed that SM had painted the cosmetics company as the cause in a negative light on the surface of their statement. If they think that the additional business of the members is the legal case, then it’s a mistake.”

- There’s a conclusion appearing about the crisis that the activities of 3 members who file the lawsuit will be stopped?
(I cant understand this one in details, but basically he said that the members would continue if their disposition is approved, and he hoped it would be soon. The court’s desicion is now in the middle of the most important and difficult variables and he had goal to finish the case within 6 months.)

- The possibility of winning?
“To see it on the bright side… SM Entertainment has in the past been ordered by the Korea FTC several times to reform contracts for violating the standard contract limits. TVXQ are now appealing for the parts that are different from the FTC terms.

- Before taking the legal action, it’s said that the members did not try to make consultation with the agency before.
“We have tried to solve the problem through dialogue. Members had even met directly with the agency. While I was also trying to resolve the problem through multiple channels. However, the agency ignored members opinions, therefore a legal appeal finally made. The members are very sorry to the fans as well.

- What is the conflict regarding to cosmetic issue?
“Should an agency has a fight with artists who are having family’s personal investment? Other celebrities are common to have additional business. Moreover, the three members had already made consultation process with agency representative, Kim Young-Min before they started the cosmetic business, but we feel betrayed then as the company told another story later on.

- TVXQ has already taken the step, but eventually dismantled
“We have already tried many ways, but all the efforts finally bring us here. We’re not too hasty to be in this position. We create legal procedure first before we present every single new plan. The 5 people based their activities together in SM Entertainment, therefore it will not be easy to be in our situation now. “

- Is there a plan for press conference?
It’s necessary but as for now, we don’t have any plan yet. The members are really sorry now to the fans. Actually we want to proceed this case undisturbed.
In addition, according to him as well, from Star News that the members have never been informed with the accurate details of their income from the agency. Therefore in general, the members asked a claim to clean up the damage regarding this matter. As for now, the law firm can not confirm clearly the details of income submitted in the same application.

Even though this statement has been made people are saying it will be hard for the boys to remain as a group now. Even though that is just a rumor we are still unsure as to what will happen with the boys now. I'm so worried I don't know what to do. I wish they would make a statement to assure us they will not disband.

One of Asia’s biggest group Dong Bang Shin Ki, has 3 of its members in a possible lawsuit against their own company SM Entertainment.

Dong Bang Shin Ki members Xiah JunSu, Micky YooChun and Hero JaeJoong had gone to Seoul Central District Court to hand in an application for provisional disposition to terminate all effects of their exclusive belonging rights contract with SM on 31st July.

It has been known that their reasons for doing so is that the contract with SM Entertainment has many irrelevant conditions attached. It is also known that the content to the contract the 3 members cannot agree to includes having them belonging exclusively to SM Entertainment for 13 years and also unhappiness over profit allocation.

The lawyer responsible for this case said, “We are currently preparing for a lawsuit against SM for this contract. (About the reasons to why) We cannot reveal the details now.”
There has also been saying that the 3 members have differing views to SM on their upcoming ‘Dong Bang Shin Ki cosmetic enterprise expansion’.

Currently out of the 3 members, JunSu is already doing a cosmetic business with his parents. It is said that there were plans for the company to operate a cosmetic business, with sheep placenta as the main ingredient, using the group’s name as the brand name in Seoul GangNam and GyeongGiDo IlSan. It is said that there were also plans for the business to be launched in China bringing in hundreds millions KRW in profit.

But it has been said that the 2 sides are having some differing views and also complications arose through their discussion on how the product and brand will go.

More DBSK Dramas: Changmin to Make Acting Debut

First, it was Jaejoong. Then, it was Yunho. Now, DBSK's maknae Max Changmin has joined the group's ever-growing acting club, as he is set to star in an upcoming drama titled "Paradise Meadow".

Besides Changmin's casting, few details have been released so far about this Samhwa Networks-SM Entertainment romantic melodrama. First Shop of Coffee Prince's Jang Hyun Joo and Into the Sun's Suh Hee Jung co-wrote the script, and shooting starts at the end of August in Jeju Island, but as of now, there are no news of any rumored or confirmed co-stars.

Changmin's entrance into the acting world means that the only non-acting DBSK members are Yoochun and Junsu.

On sohu news, the long-awaited TVXQ 3rd Asia Tour Concert “MIROTIC” finally reached Beijing last night (11thof July ) at the Beijing Stadium, having a 2-hour long concert that excited the 50K fans that gathered. Their red lightsticks were swaying along with the songs and singing together with TVXQ, the whole stadium was just beautiful.

It is said that the whole concert was just filled with excited fans, but there are some songs that could only be made special with them.During “HUG,” the members started to tear apart Changmin’s clothes, making everyone laugh. The song “Balloons,” which had a light beat, even attracted the fans to sing along. “Somebody to Love” and “MIROTIC” were the highlights of this concert, bringing all the fans HIGH to the max. Jung Yunho even shouted “I LOVE BEIJING” during the song “Somebody to Love,” giving the fans a friendlier feel.

Before the concert started, fans were so excited that they started to cry. During the performance, the majority of the fans were shouting the five members’ names nonstop, and during the members’ solos, the fans even changed their lightsticks quickly according to the member’s representative colors, like for Kim Jaejoong, it was green. For Jung Yunho solo’s, it changed to yellow; it’s really mysterious.
Unlike the other concert, TVXQ’s performance had two encores, singing four songs and at the end, they kept thanking the fans for their support.
Kim Junho came to the concert as part of the audience.
Before the opening of the concert, there was a little commotion. The fans were standing and facing to one direction. The one sitting near the stage was Kim Junsu’s fraternal twin brother, Kim Junho. Kim Junho has hopes to enter the mainland’s market and this time, he’s here to support his brother’s concert. Fans, too, noticed that there were other mainland idol groups in the audience, here to watch and learn how TVXQ performs.

The channel that would be airing this talk show is MBC’s every1 new variety show, “21st Generation Idol Army.” The host would be talking about stars who debuted big like BoA, Rain, Se7en, TVXQ, Wonder girls, SNSD, Super Junior and more, showing pictures and videos of them when they were trainees and about to debuting.There would be a broadcast of their hit songs and their fans support.

Dong Bang Shin Ki will be the first Korean artiste to perform at the Tokyo Dome, proof that the group has become one of the top stars in Japan.
The group will have their last concert performance for ‘Tohoshinki- 4th Live Tour 2009 – The secret code’ on 4th and 5th July there.
The Tokyo Dome is the dream stage where the top and popular singers like SMAP, GLAY, Ayumi Hamazaki etc had performed on. It can accomodate 50,000 audiences and is about 4 times as big as the largest indoor stadium in Korea.
For their 4th concert tour, Dong Bang Shin Ki had performed at 9 different cities, meeting up with about 250,000 fans through their concert performances.
Meanwhile, from 2nd till 6th July, they will be performing in Tokyo for their event ‘TOHOSHINKI PREMIUM SHOWCASE 2009 in OMOTESANDO’.

Yiruma who returned from naval military service interviewed with Maeil Economy Star Today during his Nation Tour.

Yiruma said " when i performed Wonder girls 'nobody' during one of my performances ( Lee Hana's peppermint show) there were some fans who were dissapointed because they thought it was too 'commercial' but I'm not a traditional pianist. I want to be a music composer who can reach the general public of all ages, not just hard core classic listeners.

"Yiruma have said before he wanted to give his music to the artist Sung Si Kyung. Yiruma said " I want to work with artists who have excellent talents such as Kim Bum Soo, but I also want to work with idols such as DBSK, Super Junior, Wonder Girls and etc. "

and went onto say " If I was part of the general public, I myself would want to listen to calm and simple music, not something that is too complicating. I don't think I would of chose those kind of music to listen to myself. When I write my music I always think about creating pieces that the public can easily listen and relate to as well as pieces that anyone can easily play themselves.

"Yiruma who was once a hardcore fan of hiphop group "SOLID" (krn), composed dance music before becoming known as a 'New Age Pianist'"

When I moved back to Korea from England, I worked with music entertainment company, and one of my mates was thinking of trying to create a female artist, so I wrote dance music for him. At first I was thinking of becoming a Pop music composer, but back then I was too young, and didn't really have connections in the music industry. I thought that just with my confidence, I would be able to make it in the music industry, but it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be" he said with a smile.

Yiruma since then have worked with artists TEI, Kim Yeon Woo, " The Film " and " Square" albums. Created OSTs for dramas " Autumn in my Heart" , " Winter Sonata" , " Spring Walts" and for the animation movie hit " Dog Poop". Slowly also stepping in to become a composer as well in the ent industry. Recently Yiruma was recieved with a comission request by the city of Hanoi, Vietnam for the year 2010 capital event. He is working on a new music piece to play with his grand scale orchestra team for the event.

When the nation tour ends, Yiruma wants to put his solo pianist gig to the side and step into other fields. " For next year, I'm going to step into creating a grand scale orchestra team to create musical pieces for movies, dramas , and educational animation films.

"Yiruma who started gaining immense popularity starting in 2006 created surprise amongst the public for giving up his British citizenship to go into the Korean National Naval Service. During his service, he married Son Tae Yeong's ( Kwon Sang Woo's wife) sister Son Hye Im and has a daughter now. Song Loanna is dedicated to his daughter.

Moon Hee Jun a former H.O.T member told his feeling about TVXQ member Youngwoong Jaejoong.In one interview, Moon Hee Jun was asked about his opinion towards his hoobae (junior) “I have good relationship with all TVXQ members, but Jaejoong is the one who loves my music the most. Moon Hee Jun revealed that before debuted, Jaejoong was one of H.O.T fans. “After TVXQ debut, Jaejoong greeted and introduced himself as H.O.T fan. Kelly here and the fanreport will be in point form because since this is the second Nagoya show, I’ve actually calmed down enough to have my notebook and pen out during the concert

→ Rehearsals begin at 2.05pm. Still can’t tell what song they’re practicing except it’s rattling the Nippon Gaishi Hall’s windows

→ Went through the goods’ line a few times and I didn’t manage to get Jaejoong’s receipt D: Steph did though but we had an unusual amount of Junsu’s. Are the receipts member-location specific or something?! There’s apparently a limited edition tour good from DHC which is not advertised on the goods’ pamphlet, only at the stands itself – a black DHC/TSC 2009 nail pouch c/w ultra-ghei pink…bath ribbon? Like what you use to pull back your hair when washing your face? That one. And a bottle of deep cleansing oil and a TSC fake tattoo + nail appliques. We suspect Chun’s hand in this. Heh.

→ Yes, I bought the damn pouch.

Secret Game

→ Actually, the opening ment for SG is pretty cool. They look damn good kicking ass.

→ YC looks and sounds hot. And their mics worked which meant awesome Jae-rocker scream, hell yeah.

→ …still not feeling this song. Steph thinks I don’t feel it because the verses are all awesome rock and then the chorus becomes happy. Heh.

→ Seriously, before this I was not a fan of Yunho’s voice but the Nagoya TSC has seriously changed my mind. His performance has been consistently good, with only very minor imperfect pitch. It’s not too deep nor too nasally most times. ♥

→ There’s the bit where Jae and Su sing after one another? They’re in the middle of the stage, surrounded by the rest of Toho and the dancers, and they sing back to back, switching places as they switch turns. Seriously awesome.
Group introThe HoMin start first while JaeSuChun takes off their coats, revealing the glittery silvery vests.

Stand Up!

→ The crowd screamed at Su’s “Don’t stop!” Jae leads the crowd to join the chorus.

SM Entertainment, who manages popular groups and artistes like Girls’ Generation, Super Junior, Dong Bang Shin Ki and more, has seen an increase in it’s stock value – to reach ₩12 Billion.
At Noon, on the 17th, SM Entertainment announced the increase of ₩ 19,100,000,000. The company’s President, Lee Soo Man, holds 27% of the shares.
On 2 January 2009, the first trading day of the year, SM’s stock was valued at ₩6,860,000,000. They have managed to reach their target of hitting ₩12 Billion within 6 months.
The increase of SM Entertainment’s stock value by more than 50% in the first half of the year is mostly due to the many activities by Girls’ Generation and Super Junior.
One of the largest shareholders being Bae Yong Jun, Keyeast Co’s shares rose to ₩4,000,000,000 and Rain’s company J-Tune Entertainment’s shares rose to ₩2,400,000,000.
